Noteworthy Tidbits

Craig Venter managed to inject a completely synthetic genome into a bacterium and it kept on living. I guess this gives GM bacteria that can metabolize petroleum products an edge over self replicating nanites in the race to become the progenitor of the grey goo that will eventually destroy life on earth and every thing else too.
Also the Senate voted for cloture on financial regulation.
Big happenings on Thursday. Lets hope that Friday can hold itself together without the wheels coming off.
