It Burns

I am in awe of the Sarah Palin machine’s ability to make my head explode. I have no idea if her tweets are authentic thoughts, or finely crafted hand grenades meant to make liberal elites like myself froth at the mouth and Real Americans nod their heads in agreement.

“Inexplicable: I recently won in court to stop my book ‘America by Heart’ from being leaked,” she wrote, “but US Govt can’t stop Wikileaks’ treasonous act?”

I really can not tell if she and her handlers have hit on the most ingenious political schtick ever, or if she sincerely thinks these thoughts about things that she hasn’t the faintest notion of what’s going on and feels the need to share them because people, including myself, obviously care what she thinks about everything. I assume that the truth is one hundred percent of both and that is why it works.

The words to discuss the phenomenon at length go all jumbly on me when I try to type them. Read it a few more times and try to figure out if she thinks that we should bomb Iceland, invade the internet or build a China style Great Firewall. It’s like she’s taunting the Administration for being bound by laws and glorying in her own legal triumph. And that would only be internally consistent if she thought that her courtroom victory over Gawker was unjust.

Did I mention that my brain hurts? [Politico]
